Workshops & Classes

Not at all! Our beginner workshops are designed for complete newcomers. We walk you through every step — from handling tools safely to finishing your first piece. All you need to bring is curiosity and enthusiasm. For advanced sessions, some prior jewelry-making experience is recommended, which is noted on each class page.

Most of our standard workshops run between 2.5 to 4 hours. Introductory classes are usually around 2–3 hours, while advanced masterclasses or multi-technique sessions can run 4–6 hours. The exact duration is listed on each workshop's booking page so you can plan accordingly.

We keep our classes intentionally small — typically 6 to 10 students — so every participant gets personal guidance from our instructors. This ensures you feel comfortable asking questions, working at your own pace, and receiving hands-on support throughout the session.

Yes! We run a selection of live online workshops via video call, as well as self-paced video tutorials available through our Learn section. Online participants receive a curated materials kit shipped to their door before the session. Check our Learn page for current virtual offerings.

Absolutely. We offer private one-on-one sessions, hen parties, birthday celebrations, and corporate team-building events. These can be tailored to any skill level and theme. Get in touch via our Contact page or email us directly and we'll create a bespoke experience just for your group.

Materials & Tools

Yes — all materials, tools, and finishing supplies are included in the workshop price. You'll arrive to a fully set-up workstation. For workshops involving precious metals or gemstones, the listed price covers a standard selection. If you'd like to upgrade your materials (e.g. gold fill instead of silver), this can be arranged for an additional fee.

Our workshops primarily use fine silver, sterling silver, copper, and brass — ideal materials for learning. Advanced classes also explore gold fill, 9ct and 14ct gold, and oxidized finishes. Our shop stocks a wide variety of metals and wires for home practice at all levels.

Absolutely. Ethical sourcing is a core value for us. All gemstones used in our workshops and sold in our shop are carefully vetted from responsible suppliers. We prioritize suppliers who are transparent about their sourcing practices, and we regularly update our supply chain to meet the highest ethical standards.

You're welcome to bring your own gemstones or special materials to incorporate into your piece — many of our students love working with heirloom stones or personal finds. Please let us know in advance so we can advise on suitability. Custom material use may affect workshop logistics slightly, but we always aim to accommodate.

Booking & Scheduling

Our workshops fill up quickly, especially on weekends! We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance for regular sessions, and 3–4 weeks ahead for specialty or advanced masterclasses. Gift vouchers can be purchased anytime and redeemed on any available date.

We understand plans change. Rescheduling is free if requested more than 72 hours before your session. Cancellations made 7+ days in advance receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48–72 hours receive a studio credit. Unfortunately, cancellations under 48 hours cannot be refunded, but we'll always try to find you another spot if possible.

Yes! Our gift vouchers make the perfect present for any occasion. They're available in specific workshop values or as open-value credits to use across any class or shop purchase. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be used online or in-studio.

Aurum Studio is fully accessible, with step-free entry, wide workbench areas, and adjustable seating. We're happy to make additional accommodations — please contact us before booking so we can ensure your experience is comfortable and fully supported from the moment you arrive.

Shop & Starter Kits

Our Starter Kits are thoughtfully curated to get you making right away. Each kit includes essential hand tools, a selection of metals or wire, a project guide with step-by-step instructions, and access to a companion video tutorial. There are kits for wire wrapping, beading, silver clay, and basic metalsmithing — each sized for a first full project.

Standard domestic shipping takes 3–5 business days. Express shipping (1–2 days) is also available at checkout. International orders typically arrive within 7–14 business days. All orders are packed carefully and shipped with a tracking number so you can follow your parcel every step of the way.

We accept returns on unopened, unused items within 30 days of purchase. If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days with a photo and we'll resolve it promptly — replacement or full refund, your choice. Consumable materials like metals, wire, and gemstones cannot be returned once opened for hygiene reasons.

Studio Policies

Most of our workshops are open to participants aged 16 and above. We also run dedicated junior workshops for ages 10–15, which require a parent or guardian to be present. Family workshops for all ages together are available on selected dates — keep an eye on our events calendar!

Yes — we love seeing your creative process and finished pieces! Feel free to photograph or film your own work. Please be mindful of other students and avoid photographing others without their consent. We'd also love if you tagged us on Instagram @AurumStudio when sharing your creations!

We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting slightly marked — though we provide aprons, metalsmithing sometimes leaves small traces. Tie back long hair and avoid dangling jewellery that could catch on tools. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for safety, especially in metalsmithing classes. Comfort is key!
